Experiment. Week 1.

We started the entire Module by designing a lamp out of scrap materials. I was excited, didn't have an idea in mind though. So I went and checked out Florians boxes and browsed through the workshops to find scrap materials. Goal of the week was to build a lamp that has its own aura.

Experiment 1:

In the boxes I found an old police lamp. I was intrigued by the spinning mechanism and decided to use the scrap metal strips to form a body and enlarge the diameter of the lamp.

Experiment 2:

While searching for a matching light for Experiment 1 I came across the tiniest lightbulb and lamp socket I've ever seen. I simply had to make another lamp with these. So I chose a wooden body, a rather small switch and a metal base.

Experiment. Week 2.

Week two was dedicated to material experiments. We ought to choose a material that was wasted often and in daily use by private people or the industry. Using easy and ecological ways to put pieces together.

Experiment 1:

The one material all around me was obviously masks. So I collected some and melted them onto a stick.

Experiment 2:

For the second experiment I worked with wood and glue as the found materials were already glued together.

Experiment 3:

Working at Louisa's Clay Workshop was my first "Atelier". So going back and experimenting with wood shavings and smashed ceramic bowls was a blast.
